Hawaiian Sunrise Shells
Sunrise shells are found only in Hawai’i, making them a rare and unique find. They are typically located 80+ feet underwater, though sometimes they wash up on the beach. In Hawaiian culture, they are seen as symbols of strength, protection, and hope.
At Salt & Water Co., we never keep shells with living creatures inside and any unused shells or treasures are also returned, reflecting our commitment to sustainable and ethical practices. Since I only free-dive, I can collect a small, limited selection of these shells myself. The rest are ethically sourced from friends and family on the North Shore of O’ahu.
